Our college advising services are designed to help students improve their approach to college admissions and applications to maximize success.  

Yes, Rambo Research offers support in identifying prospective colleges, navigating the application process and finding and applying for scholarships to help pay college costs. Additionally, guidance is provided as needed in the financial aid process. 

Pam Rambo has decades of experience in academic advising, admissions and financial aid  within colleges. Additionally, she has worked in public and private high schools, a college access program and as an independent college advisor. She earned a doctorate in counseling from The College of William and Mary and holds memberships in professional associations including the Higher Education Consultants Association, the Virginia Association of College Registrars and Admission Officers, the Virginia Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators, the Independent Educational Consultants Association and the National Speakers Association. Since establishing Rambo Research and Consulting in 2010, Pam has helped over 600 families navigate the college admissions, financial and scholarship process.

My experiences with members of the class of 2026 are that they and their families are wisely choosing to enroll at the colleges that are the best fit for their goals and preferences in terms of major, opportunities, special programs, location, campus size, comfort and safety and final cost.  Their choices range from small private colleges to large public universities in rural, suburban and urban campus settings. Most are within 7-8 hours driving distance from home with a few farther away. Their post secondary choice competitiveness levels closely match their high school academic preparation and extracurricular experiences. The following final decisions have been made: East Carolina University, Elon College, George Mason University, High Point University, James Madison University, Radford University, Randolph-Macon College, Sewanee: The University of the South, University of Lynchburg, University of North Carolina at Wilmington, University of South Carolina, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest University and The United States Military Academy at West Point. Amazing growth experiences await these unique 2026 high school grads headed for a wide variety of college majors, study abroad opportunities, extracurricular leadership, professional internships and careers.
